Yes, is a bit low, but it can certainly be placed closer to the undercarriage.

Does yours drop down from the mufflers like that or is it flipped over and higher than the muffler inlets? If I flip it over, it may be tricky avoiding the parking brake. Considering this is a bolt-on kit, I can't imagine that it is supposed to sit the low. I must have something wrong.

The pipes are parallel to the mufflers as you can see from this picture, everything matches up with the same flatness.

I can see from your pic that your pipes drop down fore of the mufflers so I guess I have that right. Yours apparently is tucked up much better so I'll have to go back to the drawing board. If it weren't for that damn parking break, I could raise the 'X' up quite a bit. I may try to raise the parking brake bracket pivot point. Hmmm ...

Something is not quite right gothand, as the "X" part of the pipes should be closer to your floor pans. Here is my '65 Fastback on the lift of the exhaust shop that did mine. The pipes do run slightly downward from the mufflers to the X pipe, but not as extreme as yours. I have mine connected to stock manifolds for now, but would eventually like to go with some headers. I hope I can find some that keep the same ground clearance. Oh, and my parking brake pivot does rattle slightly on the pipe, so I currently have a small zip tie holding it off the pipe, but will search for a better solution this spring when the car is out of storage.
