Default What is going on here ? (Engine Compartment Question)

I was looking at this picture of the engine compartment in a 65 coupe. Maybe someone can help me with the area that's circled in yellow. It looks like the master cylinder cap is right there (roughly where it should be) but it looks like its sitting too high. Or that maybe the cap its sitting on some sort of a shelf. Like the inner fender apron/ side of compartment extends further back, but that didn't seem right?

Am I just looking at this wrong or can someone clear this up for me?

Scott

It looked like it was in the right spot. But it looks like the inner fender kind of extends over it instead of seeing the master cylinder mounted to the firewall. Is it just a wierd angle do you think?

It looks to high to me as well. Compare mine to it.

looks like it's sitting on something. i tried to blow it up but it starts to get fuzzy. Looks like there is something that goes diag (kinda follows the brace). It looks like it's sitting on top of that. wish I had a higher rez pic
