RE: 351w crate motors
Actually that'd be a good start, get that then put som AFR 185's, Canfield 192's, TFS....a better head of some sort, and swap in a roller cam since that block is roller compatible and you'd be off and running with a good little street engine with plenty of powerfor around $4,500 if you swap the cam/heads yourself

RE: 351w crate motors
If you can get a better setup for the same price then that'd be the way to go. Better internals leave a lot of room to grow. But even a stock 351 crank is plenty strong, and lighter too. Just depends on what you wanna do

RE: 351w crate motors
A shop in my hometown. I had to drive to Dallas to get the block myself, just a used 351w standard bore. It took a total of about 6 months, the old guy likes to take his time and only works on the high-power motors at night and on the weekends and cars and stuff during the week.
