Default My 65 Project Take 2

I got this car back during my freshman year in high school and had it together by my senior year. Drove it for about a year and a half and went through two tranny swaps and two blown motors. Thencollege, the military, and work all took priority over working on the car and it has been parked for the better part of 5 years now. I'm out of the military but school and work still take up a good amount of my time. But I have decided this car needs to hit the street again. Here is how it sits now.

Front Suspension:
Global West upper control arms w/ negative roll system
Grab-a-Track lower control arms
Grab-a-Track 620# springs cut down 1 1/2 coils
Grab-a-Track shocks
Grab-a-Track 1 1/8" sway bar w/ poly mounts and links
Grab-a-Track poly strut rod bushings

Rear Suspension:
Grab-a-Track 5 1/2 leaf springs w/ mid eye
Grab-a-Track 3/4" sway bar w/ poly mounts and links
Grab-a-Track shocks

Brakes:
Front '79 Lincoln Versallies Disk Swap
Rear '79 Lincoln Versallies Disk Swap
67 Mustang dual resevoir swap

Drivetrain:
No Motor
No Tranny
'79 Lincoln Versallies 9" swap w/ 3.70s and open diff

Other:
Poly Fuel Cell
Oversized Raditor w/ custom mounts
Shaved gas cap, quarter trim
In progress shaving rain gutters

This is the car I built while in high school. My plans are to scrap both front and rear suspension in exchange for a coil over system or air bag system. Definitely a rack and pinion system. I have a 5.0 that I'm gonna rework with a cam, heads, maybe some forged pistons, and I'll probably carburate it. I have an AOD but I would prefer a T-5 or a tremec 5 or 6 speed. and blah blah blah. I'm sure if we were all given a chance to name all the planned mods for our cars we would never finish. This is how the car sits with no motor or tranny in it. The car sits really low but handles insane.

You got any interior shots of it? It looks like it could be a fun project (again), the hood looks cool on there.

I ripped the interior out of it a while back. It was white and baby blue and I just wasn' happy with it. I'm planning on an entirely black interior now. I decided today to go ahead and paint the car a burnt orange. The hood I made myself with a harwood cowl. I cut the center part out of the stock hood and then used some small rivets to hold it onto the hood. Then I had a good body guy use some sort of epoxy to blend it onto the hood. It looks like one piece even up close. I may be looking to sell the hood before the car goes into paint.

Did it have a five gauge cluster like the '65 GT and all of the '66 mustangs?

Aint that the truth...

Just from what you've said, and depending on your time frame and budget, the suspension sounds pretty good as is. I'd be looking for a detroit true tracand 5 gears before suspension changes.

Yah, the open diff deffinitely blows. The things I need to get in this order are: Rack and pinion (my box and column are screwed.) then the diff, then everything else.

paint the car a burnt orange Sounds like an excellent idea Hook'em [8D]

If it handles like it's on rails why do you want to change the suspension. Do you have too much money or something?
