Fuelling up without spilling?

when i first got my car, i had some issues trying to find the best way to fill. usualy the clicks or the spilling. i stopped the spilling by tilting the nozzle sideways and SLOWLy filling at first. as far as i can tell about the clicks, if you look at a gas nozzle, you can figure out how it stops automaticaly (little holes at the end i believe) from what ive tried, the clicking comes from the pump getting the signal to stop pumping cuz the gas is hitting the tip
