So I am just about ready to swap out my C-4 for an AOD transmission. I am just wondering what type of transmission does an AOD use? Is it the Decron-Mercon type III? I know the c-4 used type F but that was for older transmissions. Also what is the capacity for the transmission? Thanks!

Engine: V-8 289, Edelbrock Performer 600cfm carb, performer intake & cam.
Transmission: Ford AOD.
Rear End: Ford 9inch w/traction-loc differential, 3.56:1 gear ratio, 31 splines axles.
