Default another thing about 67

Ok i have another question. I have noticed that some 67's have FORD on the hood and others dont. Like my car it doesnt have FORD on it. But i say another mustang today that did. Was that an option? Or was it to distiguish V8's from I6's?

I believe all the 67's had the FORD on the hood, the holes for yours could have been welded up or bondo'd over, most likely the latter.

Dido. Many people liked the “cleaner†look of the plain hood and removed them. I like the letters, so when I put a 67 hood on my 68, I left them on.

All 67s came with them I beleive.

I don't have them on my 67. I like how it looks without them.

ORIGINAL: BA Mustang

Simple answer to an easy question. In 1967 the Mustang had FORD on the front of the hood, in 1968 they did not. If it is an original hood just check the date code. However the other posters are correct as well, some do not like it and filled in the holes. I like it myself as when I close the hood I put a finger on the "F" and one on the "D" thus not touching the paint. fd

I beg to differ. My 67 factory hood had no such holes in it. It was clean I am almost positive from day one.

I can no longer verify this because my wife backed into my hood, hopelessly hairlipping it and forcing me to purchase a turn-signal hood instead. Boo Hoo.

My factory hood had the lettering, but when I went with the fiberglass cowl hood to fit the 408W I left the lettering off. Just looks a little cleaner imo.

Negative, this was not a standard option. Can't recall what option package it was included in, but it was definitely an option.
