someone on one of the mustang forums had installed glass packs before the flows to quiet it down to an acceptable level but stll have the chambered flow sound

Thanks for all the tips. I am going to try the "Steel Wool Trick" first. Just kidding!
Well maybe I need to just leave the Flowmasters alone and play by the "If it ain't broke dont fix it" rule. Just adding some tailpipes would probably be a lot cheaper, help a little, and keep some funds available to steer toward my front disc conversion which I would love to have done by the time the winter rains roll in.
You guys are all so helpful, I hope that I can someday help the newbies on this site!
