1966 for 1968 Firebird Trade?
Should I trade my 66 for a 68 Firebird?
We havent yet clearly come to an agreement but it has a 350 . he claims its been in the family for ages. Needs fan shroud. paint is 20 years old. turbo 350 auto trans.
And here are some pics of his car. Of course im speaking of trading my 6 banger on my sig.
I think its well worth it right ?

Wow, it's like the Attack of the Firebirds lately.
I don't know the particulars of your 66, but that Firebird would probably go for around $5k-$8k around here. I think the 68 is the best year of the first generation Firebird. I've got a beat up 67.
Put up a pic of the engine and of the interior and I'll be able to tell you more about it.
Here's what I notice right off:
That's a Camaro rear spoiler.
The front bumper and hood should meet in the middle. Something is bent or not aligned properly.
Nice rims, do the front tires rub? Drive it over a speed bump or a dip and find out. My guess is that they do.
That side mirror makes me believe that good taste is dead.
Are those drum brakes in the front?
Overall it looks pretty good. Check for bondo in the quarters, leaky rear window, rusty trunk, rusty floor pans.
Good luck. If you're looking for something to build up, a first generation F-body is a great choice. If that car still has a Pontiac 350 in it, you can bolt in a 400 or 455 without any other modifications.

I WOULD! I was going to buy a 67 with a 326 in it. But the old fart wanted to much money for it.It needed full restoration. So then i bought my I6 stang.[>:]it would have been a nice car.

Its up to you, but as long as the bird is sound I'd do it. I like the styling of the bird, just looks like it needs some exerior work, so as long as everything else is good I'd say its worth it.

I have owned 2 68 Firebirds so you won't find me saying anything negative about the Tin Indian camp. The Firebirds are upscale Cumarrows with better drivelines and interior appointments.
I sold my 68 Bird to my friend so I still see it all the time. He put a 455 in it and it jams. Absolutely jams.

Ohhhh,, nice. That would be my second choice over a classic mustang.. In fact when I was looking for my classic,, it was on the list.. But i found the 69 for cheap.. That looks like a nice solid car. What do the interior and engine bay look like,, any upgrades to the suspension??
