Default stupidest question ever, involves 67 stang

Ok. So, 2 years ago I bought a 72 caddy. The engine was nice but I messed it up when I over revved it and a rod gave. Anyway, I went to a junkyard and got another 72 472. I completely rebuilt it, and put in all the goodies, edelbrock intake, comp cams, etc.. It pulled so well, I first snapped the u-joints in the driveshaft then burned my brand new primary clutch, really nice power

Not too long ago, I junked the car. I have this beast, with less then 2k miles on it sitting in my dads garage. I recently bough a straight six 67 stang. Not for the engine but for the condition the body was in.
So, over the last year, I spent 15k in it. I repainted the inside, dynamatted everything, new weatherstripping,etc.. The only thing I have to do now is put in a drivetrain.

Here is my idea, drop the 472 in, get a mustang 2 front end if need be, get a ford 9 inch posi and see what happens. My question is, how many of you thing that this can be done. And if it can, how much work would have to be done. Also, how many of you are offended cause I want a GM product in a FORD? LOL

Well, how else can you get so much torque? I really dont like high revving high hp engines, Id rather snap some more drive shafts

First and foremost I am offended...but also intriguid by your proposition. Go for it. It will be unque for sure.
You will probably need to cut and weld some stuff, just make sure you can support the weight up front. And don't whip it around into a tree with all that torque.

With enough time, money, patience and ingenuity you can put any engine in any vehicle. Good luck it would be a beast if you get it in there.

The shock towers will have to go. So, figure out a way to have shocks somewhere else in front. You may also have to remove the export brace, so you will have to figure out how to brace the front end. I'm not sure I would attempt to put that monster in a unibody constructed body.

That's where the M2 frontend comes into place...

Yeah, but will the Mustang II front end actually hold up with that monster loading it down? If so, that would be one powerful beast.

its not even the size of the engine that matters, ive seen a 514 block in a mustang, its the fact that its gm that gonna be diffcult, ull prolly have to make up custom mounts wiring harness and all thats stuff that clearly wont go between ford and gm

If you already have the motor, then you probably noticed that it's a front sump pan... just like a SBF that would be in it. The plugs face the top sides of the heads, so as long as you can get the exhaust manifolds in between the spring towers, it should be fine. I mean, they cramed big block fords in these chassis, so this motor should fit. Just because it's a big cubic inch engine, doesn't mean it's heavy either... it only clocks in at 625lb. Get the Eldebrock aluminum intake, you'll drop 75lbs of that instantly. 302's are around 460-500lb depending on what's on them, so you're not looking at a massive difference. The PIA is going to be the trans, lord only knows if a TH400 will fit in the trans tunnel. Get a pontiac TH400, they are short shaft and bolt to the caddy motor. You can go 4-speed if you want too. Check out the MTS forums, they might be able to help. I used to have a pair of 500's, i've often wondered how one would do in my 67 coupe...
