Selling The Mach 1
Well i've realized my prioritys and i will sadly have to sell my first mustang for educational financing. Helicopter pilot training is around 65k and i just dont want to muster out that much interest on a loan on what the Mustang could cover. I know then next car i get i will love just as much.
The mustang is a 1969 Mach 1. California car. 1990 302HO. Was originally an automatic, now has a 4 speed Toploader. Also was an AC car. Few dents, just a couple rips on seats in the interior. Rebuilt Rear end, Couple Rust spots, one on tailight valance and door corner. Expensive sound system as well Car is in very good condition. I'm wanting to sell it at around 20,000. I have some cash offers but are just shy of that. I think i may try to sell it on ebay.
I was wondering what you guys would appraise her value at. I live in southern california.

RE: Selling The Mach 1
If any of the offers you are getting are even remotely close to $20K, I'd do it. IIRC, you got the Maaco paint job, and by your second picture, it looks like there are some dings along the door. If it were in very clean shape and the current drivetrain, I'd figure it to be worth about $25K. Considering it will likely cost $8K or so to strip the paint and re-do the body to very nice status and to redo the interior, I'd put its value in the teens if I were to buy it.
One other thing to consider is that the economy appears poised for a slowdown, with the construction industry already feeling the pinch. From what I've seen in the past, the market seems to get flooded as people have to sell their toys to make ends meet.
Good luck!

Well to be fair...if someone offers you 18 19 etc...have them write the check.
I just bought a 67 fb which is a really hot commoditiy for 20k and I have to do nothing to it.
I was laid off about 1 week before I was going to buy a 1969 mach 1 for 11k 3 yrs ago in the same relative mechanical condition (except the stock motor was swapped for a 351c like your stock was swapped for a 302) you describe yours to be with the exception it was just painted (by the same guy who painted my 65) and needed no body work.

Dont do it!!! You dont owe any money on it right now,, just get some student loans and keep the car for just incase you run into money problems in the future! You wont be able to find this car again! Its your first..
