Anti-theft devices for your classics

RE: Anti-theft devices for your classics
My gosh, if I had to have all that to keep my ride, I think I'd have to move to a different part of town, or different town. And if I can't shoot the thief in the head while trying to steal my car, definitely move to a different state.
Don't ever shoot to injure, you're looking for a lawsuit. If you live in a state that allows it's citizens to protect themselves (like Texas), always shoot to kill.

I wish Cali had laws that allowed you to protect your personal property more aggressively. However, California is founded on entirely different principles, under entirely different circumstances than Texas. I am sure Texas is a great place, but I don't think you could argue that things are perfect in Texas, either.
Love it or hate it, there must be something that people like about Cali, over 35,000,000 people can't be wrong. And most of us are not leaving!!! Even though there are a few of us who think we would be better off without the rest of the Union holding us back! And there are plenty of Cali-haters who have never even been here before who would be happy to see us slide into the ocean. It's all good.

Why don't you get your car running right? Is it so people can't steal it or does it just keep things interesting?

None of that would significantly slow down the guy with the flatbed when you park it at the movies/mall/friend's house/where ever.
It's interesting how people always list their firearm(s) in this sort of post. Around here if you shoot someone while stealing your car YOU will go to prison.
On my "good" car I've got a removable steering wheel and an agreed-on-value comprehensive insurance policy.

Listen, that dude with the flatbed will have to be one daring **** (luckily those types of thieves are rarer than your average petty thief).
I'm also thinking on getting a GPS similar to On Star (can't get On Star, that only works for GM cars).
Hey, the more the merrier.

The key is to shoot them in the kneecap or legs so you are not attempting to kill them. And then make sure the police know that you were "threatened" and you felt that your life was in danger. You will be okay and the thief will walk with a limp in prison for a few years. haha.
Galactacz!
Nice work. Any Oaklander knows what it takes to keep your car safe. Seems like you have done a very good job. Mine is still a little more vulnerable than that.
I have:
1) Viper alarm with starter kill, tilt sensor, doors, trunk & hood sensors
2) Club
3) Hidden battery kill switch
4) Tire locks all around
5) Master lock on hood
6) Motion sensor lights
7) S&W .357 Magnum, fully loaded
I am going to add electrified door handles soon. Probably about 220v to each door handle. Just enough to burn the handle imprint into the thief's hand. LOL!!!
