i just keep my german shepard in the front seat. hes a great companion, and a great theft device... only problem is he sheds A LOT. dont think the thief will want a fur ridden 67 with a german shepard ridin shotgun 
only other thing i can think of is keep a gun on your persons at all time. somehow put onstar on your vehicle, or have an automatic detonator linked to your key so when your alarm alerts you you can blow that m***** F***** to smitherines.... (would prefer not to use this one)
