i have a 67 mustang with a 68 302 4bbl in it. the gears have been changed by a previous owner, the guy i bought it from didnt know what they were only that they are pretty low. ( like 4.56's or lower) it has headers, c4 tranny, edlebrock performer rpm intake, msd electronic igniton, automatic/manual valve bodies, and a B&M Quick Silver shifter, i was also told it had a mild cam. what would you estimate the HP and torque at?

sorry i have no information on the internals, the whole thing is still a mystery. the guy i bought it from bought it from someone who was in the process of racing it on the the strip. he didnt tell him much about it when he bought it..

i thought stock they had 230 HP....

they were 220 stock, its going to be hard to guess HP without knowing whats going on inside, if you really want to know why dont you dyno it?

i want to get it dyno'd the only problem is i dont know of any places near me ( i live in portage Michigan) i just wanted a rough estimate until i can get it dyno'd

I wouldn't expect that setup to have more than 250-270 hp. I had a 289 built almost exactly like that, and it didn't feel a whole lot more powerful than stock. If you want power, its going to take matching your heads, cam, and intake in an agressive setup.

If you still have stock heads you're not gonna be making much power. Horsepower takes more money and effort than most people realise
