FS: I6 + auto from 1966 Mustang
I am selling the original I-6 and auto tranny out of my 66. I am pulling the motor on 9/30 and it will be ready for pickup at that time.
This includes the complete motor (air cleaner to exhaust), automatic transmission, driveshaft, and shifter.
The gentleman I bought the car from hadn't driven the car in 3 years but he was able to fire up the motor and have it run. The transmission is dry so we didn't attempt to drive the car.
$300 for the above parts.
I am in Richardson, TX 75080 (just North of Dallas)
Call with any questions, 972-897-1424.

And if you are in Houston and don't want to travel, I have the same set up for the same price. Pretty much the same all around, engine runs strong, but have not tried the tranny since didn't have wheels. This one is the super high performance "Sprint 200", BTW

Actually CMC#11 is in reference to an organization that I race with, CamaroMustangChallenge. I have an 89 Mustang that I road-race with NASA (National Auto Sport Association) in the CMC series.

I don't blame you though.... put the money you save into a rear end with 4.10 gears, you wont be sorry unless gas mileage is a big concern, if so, take some more of the money you will save and put an overdrive transmission behind the six, and you will be able to have your cake and eat it too.

yea JMD, you caught that? I've been contemplating it A LOT. The V8 swap would be ideal, but as we all know, it's not as easy as buying it and dropping it in one day. I think, for now, the 6 will do me fine.
If anyone wants, there's a heck of a deal on a 289/C4 down in College Station
I've also thought about this AOD stuff ... I have no idea how it's done but it sounds cool.
