wilwood brakes

RE: wilwood brakes
I was thinking of doing something similar, changing my I6 spindles to v8 ones, but I think it will be too much hassle. National Parts Depot sells a kit specifically for I6 4 lug wheels. Another problem is that if you change the front, you'll also have to change the back which someone said was easiest if you take the whole rear out of the car That's a lot of work when they make a disc brake kit for the 4 lug wheels.

RE: wilwood brakes
Like you JMD i know just enough to confuse myself. The spindles are really confusing, some things i read say they are the same and some say they arn't. I think I'm going to have to go to ford and look at there old books for part numbers. I have already swaped the rear for a 9 inch out of a versailles soI have to switch the front to 5 bolt too. Where is a good place to buy spindles i checked ebay and i didnt find any right now.

RE: wilwood brakes
Thanks for all the info guys. I am going to go with the wilwood kits. I found out about the spindle questions I had. I called the local ford dealerand got the part numbers for the spindles. The drum brake spindles are the same for the 6 cyl and the v8 from 67-69, they are also the same part numbers for the 66-69 Fairlane and Torino. The part numbershegave meare C90Z 3105C and C90Z 3106 C. The guy i talked to has a 67 Shelby and says the spindles are the same on his too. I hope this helps someone else that was wondering the same thing. I aslo talked to the guys a Wilwood and they couldnt tell me because there kits are always done on v8 cars not 6 cyl.
