i think i decided to go with a 408 because i think i could get decent power with it, and besides a 460 would just tempt me to do things that are not in my budget......lol

Stroked 351w. I would go with a 408 all day long. Makes a ton of power without all the weight. Small blocks spank big blocks at the drags all day long.
I dont know what strips you go to, or where your hearing this, but a well built 460 will spank, and i mean straight up BITCH-SLAP a 351w at the strip on any given day..... that almost made me laugh.

Depends on your budget and what your looking for "Mustang."
people put to much stock into the drag strip and 1/4 mile times, thats great and all but its like the 40yd dash in football, its just subjective when put into a whole package...a street strip car is so impracticle, last i checked streets actually had curves, give me a road/road course car any day, power + handling.

Streets do have curves and turns. However, no car with a modified suspension, or even a decent performing suspension, will be tested on the street. Rarely do you find a nice, smooth corner from street to street, nor can you be confident that mountain road is clear of gravel, animals, etc. My '93 Explorer is plenty capable of keeping up on curvey roads without exceeding any safety limits.

??? well i know that ive driven asedan cars on the street and ive driven a few street strip cars on the street, and regardless of road conditions wether its the interstate or a barely 2 lane back road, a road course car will out handle a street strip car, and guess what, it still has a race prepped motor.
