Default RE: Yet another candidate.. 66' Coupe

ORIGINAL: groho

couple of things, if you get to see the car first hand, pick up a small pocket magnet and tape the end and check for bondo in the typical places, the tape will prevent scratching the paint. second, the dual exhaust for 65-66 requires the rear brake line to be moved over, towards the outside by about 3-4 inches to prevent the flexline from melting on the exhaust. big safety issue that's rarely mentioned. check inside the cowl and under the dash for cowl leaks. new $50 carpet covers allot of damage. otherwise, it looks like a fair price for a good lookin car.

I was lookin at a 64 nova just the other day, and couldn't help seeing the sanding marks left under the brand new paint, and un-painted bondo along the rear window just under the trim. The guy said it was a bargain at $25K.
thanks for the heads up on the brake issues, I will be sure to check that out. just waiting on the copy of the appraisal and then I can go pick it up! I will be happy when it is under a car cover in the garage. of course I want to drive it as well but the weather has been rainy lately so I am in no hurry
