The 5/16 studs will somewhat limit your choices....

There is only one "stud mount" selection on this whole page,,, and it is $18.00 per rocker... []

Might want to change to some 3/8 studs... Lots more choices....

3/8" rockers with 5/16" nuts. But, those will pull out with any kind of performance cam, killing the performance gains of the cam. Get those junkers out and have the heads machined for screw in studs that are 3/8" top to bottom.

has anyone done this themselves at home. I imagine its simply a matter of drilling and tapping with a 3/8 set. Can it be done while still on the car? (obviously being very carefull with the swarf.)

I did my first set of heads with them on the car, but you're not likely to get the studs aligned properly.

I was thinking about machining down first3/4" of thethe appropriate drill bit to the diameter of the existing hole (so that the exising hole acts a drillingguide.) I figure I'd only need todrill about half way, and then just use a normal bit to go the rest of the way.
A little hard to explain.

Those look like shouldered studs, designed as a nonadjustable valvetrain system. If you change rockers, you're going to need new pushrods as well.

Those are positive stop rockers. Not really adjustable. Plus you need a rail type rocker arm. I THINK comp cams makes a roller tip that woul work. With rails. Stock rail rocker will work too.
