While I was driving on the freeway the hood pin pops out, and the safety latch catches the hood.

When I close the hood it seems solid, I can't wiggle it and get it to pop up, but on the road the vibrartion and constant wind pushing the hood seems to undo it.

Any recommendations? Or should I replace the pin, or the whole assembly?

Im not trying to sound rude by no means, but common senseshould tellyou how to solve this problem. Im thankful your safety latch caught your hood and no one was harmed ...

ya same thing happend to me u could try to lower you bolts for your hood pins if u can, thats what i did so that the hood pins were just pressing harder on the hood, ur lucky the latch caught it, when it happend to my my latch didnt but my back 2 pins did ( i dont have hood hinges )

Sorry, I don't have hood pins, I meant the dowel pin that fits in the latch.

Sounds like you need to check/adjust you hood latch assembly. Lots of times you need to clean it up, lubricate it and make sure it's working properly. If that doesn't work you will probably need to replace it with a new one.

I am not trying to sound rude either, but it kinda irks me when people make comments like this. It may seem like a small and trivial problem with an easy fix to you, but he asked for help because he apparently didnt know the "common sense" solution. The whole point of this site is to help each other out right, well how did that help him solve his problem?

I absolutly agree with what your trying to say, but theres a fine line between needing help and being lazy [&:].

So your latch comes loose while driving....my guess would be to adjust the latch. Problem solved.

i didnt know **** i and i still dont know half of what most of you do, so i ask stupid *** questions and get the answer i need, so ease up with the common sense stuff

OH BTW if the hood pins dont work go redneck DUCT TAPE FTW.

definitely give the guy a break..Its better that he ask and be 100% sure about something this important.The latch assembly might quite posibly be bad if it gave up the pin.
