Doors:latch replacement & weatherstripping adhesive
Has anyone ever replaced a door latch assembly? How difficult was it?
What adhesive should I use on the weatherstripping that connects to the door?
Also, how do I weatherproof my door? I.e. The part where the window goes down into the door, how do I keep rain water out of it? See pic:

The only difficult part about removing a door latch is having to work inside the door cavity. For weatherstrip adhesive, use 3M black weatherstrip adhesive. You need to replace the felt strips at the top of your door on the outside to keep water out of the door, and make sure the weep holes at the bottom of the door are free of obstruction.

Yes, the door lach is not too difficult to change. You may need a impact screwdriver to break the latch bolts loose, Take a photo of the rods before you remove then so you know where they all go. Almost every one sells the 3M superweatherstrip adhesive in black or yellow. The W-stripping your referring to is called the "outer beltline" and is usually found under part number 21452. It clips into place and has a screw to keep it tight.
