Looks weird being a coupe...but it sounds like a fun project! How much did that trunk run you for?

BTW....that paint sure is perty!

Me too, that is a 69 Super Bee with a 426 Hemi. It's not mine...

I don't recall what I paid for the trunk lid, I bought it about 7 years ago.
As far as weird looking, I guess it is but I figured if Shelby himself could build Little Red and Green Hornet Shelby hardtops and even a few Mexican road racing hardtops, then I could build up a hardtop too! The paint is a Dodge color, "Flame" red. Found on Ram pickup's.

Personally I dont think its "weird" looking. And as long as you like it Craig, it doesnt matter what anyone thinks. I like the old school build and I admire how you have stuck with this one through the years. It is going to be a beautiful ride!

Thanks, I didn't think it was weird either, I do like it. I appreacate your comments. I built what I wanted to and I know some or even a lot won't like it. I have been working off and on this car for 17 years because I have a family and only a single income. It hasn't always been a priority but it has been fun.

I also found my original thread on page 17 and I think this should link to it. https://mustangforums.com/m_3650037/tm.htm

Your lieing. If you have been around mustangs for longer than even a month, a shelby coupe will look weird to you. Weird does not mean that its bad, ugly, or whatever...its just STRANGE. I personally like it...but its still WEIRD .

Good luck with your project!

Strange, yes. But even Ford/Shelby built a few...

Yes, but not enough to make it common...thats why it SEEMS weird. Very good looking car man, id do the same if i had the funds. Its different is all i was trying to say ... very original.

I'm not offended, thanks for the comments. I don't think "weird" is how I would describe it but I agree it's different and I see what your saying. It may be weird to some.
I just liked the Shelby's and I had a coupe already and then "Eleanor" put a spin on the Shelby look that I liked so I went with it. I didn't really want a copy of Eleanor and I'm not trying to clone a Shelby. I like how the Eleanor made the Shelby style look a little more like a road racer or Trans-am race car and still kept the theme of the Shelby. I know alot of people think the Eleanor look will become "dated" but I think it borrows so much from the classic lines that it will alway look good. That's just my opinon.
