I'm wondering what mufflers to put on the 428. I’d like to hear your opinion on which would sound the best. I’m not looking for the loudness, but more of the deep sound that I wont get a ticket for. Its going to be 2 ½” pipe and a X or H pipe.

I was looking at Flowmaster Super 40 Mufflers, Hooker Aero Chamber Mufflers and Magnaflow Performance Race Series Mufflers.

Also I was wondering if the X or H pipe is the way to go.

I'm no authority on mufflers, but I can tell you this: Flowmaster 40s are LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! You may not get a ticket for running them, but you'll for sure get a headache! The "drone" inside the car (at cruising speeds) is deafening. No chance of carrying on a conversation or hearing your stereo.

As for an X or H... They'll both do wonders for balancing your exhaust note and performance. X pipes are a bit more even-sounding and quiet.

why not go with a 3 chamber flowmaster....a big block has a deep sound anyway....these sound good and really don't hurt perforamce unless your in the 500hp range
