Install Fule Pump - Over Cam Gear?
have a previous post on engine clicking noise andI think I may have an idea on problem.
When I put my timing chain back on I put lever of fule pump under cam gear on timing chain - I read on another post somewhere it's suppose to go on top. Can someone clear it up for me. thaks

There is no physical way you could have put the fuel pump arm under the gear, cuz under would be between the gear and block. If you mean below the eccentric cam which is the metal circle attached to the gear than that is the way it is supposed to go.One thing that could happen is if the eccentric is loose and slapping around which would only happen if the lil stud in the cam is missing

I looked at another fuel pump I had laying around and your right no way I could have installed it other than the lever on bottom. I guess I was just reaching. Changed timing chain and now get it ticking noise and with scope it was pretty loud on pump. Maybe the cam nut came loose or stud came out - or maybe a lifter or pushrod with noise carrying thru pump. I'll tear into it this weekend

since u have a scop start the car and point in in thevalve cover and intaje right above valvetrain components and see..Also crazy as it sound,i thought i had a bad lifter or bad bearing but i overlookeed a loose pulley cuz with belt tension it was tight then took the belt off later and realized th pulley was loose and clicking when the motor turned.Sry just a lil anecdot for ya that might hekp
