GT Fog Lights for 66
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased two GT fog lights and assemblies and tried to secure them to the grille of my 1966 Mustang, but the bolt that sticks out the back of the assembly is not long enough or angled right to go far enough behind my grille to get secured with a nut and washer. I have seen classic Mustangs with a steel pipe of sorts that connects the two fog lights to the horse emblem in the center of the grille; do I absolutely need this steel housing to connect the fog lights??? Or is there something else that I'm missing that if I get, itwill allow the fog lights to go on?
I also found out that there is a separate switch to turn on the fog lights once they're installed...is this a necessary switch? I was hoping to wire the lights into the main headlights so that I could turn everything on in one pull. Any ideas on whether this is possible or not??
If you want pics of the assemblies or of my grille (or anything else) just let me know and I can get them to you.
Thanks!!!

RE: GT Fog Lights for 66
It would be possible to run the fog lights on the same switch as the headlights, but why would you want to? Seems to me it'd be easy enough to run the switch. Plus with all that old wiring, and the way those cars were wired, unless your running relays, I don't think it would be very smart to run anything else off that switch. Just my opinion.

Hi all,
Sorry I'm so late in replying......
smittycm: Thanks for the advice about the wiring...I took another look at the fog light switch and I figure it would be easy enough to put that under the dashboard, so that's the way I'll go
Riverside66: Thanks for your reply also...the lights are reproduction from National Parts Depot...they have an online website w/ a PDF catalog at www.npdlink.com
