Default Strengthening Weak Points

What are the weak points of a vintageMustang? I've heard the shock towers are one but was wondering if anyone had sufficient experience to point out some other weaknesses. I was looking at a Mustang II conversion but after a lot of thought I would rather stay with sotck style set-up. I plan on subframe connectors and chassis stiffener, TCP strut tower brace system, and add some strengthening to the body/subframe where needed with either tubing or plates. Which is why I am asking. I also noticed TCP has a new g-Bar rear suspension set-up that has a cradle which strengthens the subframe/body in the rear section.

I plan on taking this car road racing and turning it into as much of a g-machine as possible.

Hello, www.mustangsplus.com has a chassis strengthening kit. You can go to their websight and see it under tech articles. That will give you a good idea of the weak points of the car .

+1 I went with sub frame connectors and a roll bar.

That definitely helps. Thanks! I don't plan on buying their kit but it definitely points me in the right direction on where to start. Since I already ordered sub-frame connectors and a frame stiffener, it looks like the torque boxes and inner rocker panels are next.

The shock towers are an area where u may want to put some extra reenforcement. On my 67, the shock tower is ripped at the upper control arm. I also found out the hard way not to remove the shock tower brace, it took me 5 hours to get it back on. you live, you learn.
