This isn't on the stock bottom end, is it? I don'tknow ifthose valves would clear the factory pistons, and that cam will wind the engine up to 6k (peak power is around 5k), way past what I'd trust the stock rod bolts to.

Yes, it will. I ran that cam in my 331 for a while and it really likes to wind up.

Pick up a new block, .060 is way too much. SBF's use thin-wall castings, so .040 is about as far as you can take it without serious overheating issues in most cases, and I wouldn't even take it that far. 5.0 blocks are a dime a dozen, not enough to justify trying to use a .060 overbored block.

the possibility of swapping in the 302 from this granada is looming over me also but i cannot find ANY information on the horsepower ratings for the 1975-1980 with the 302 2V - some said 140 hp others said 150 - what's the deal with the power being so low? the compression? if so to get it back up swapping back the old 289 heads would raise it up correct? or is it a piston issue also. any information on that car/engine would be great as i cannot find it at all!

they had a retarded cam and low compression. early heads would help and so would cam swap.
