Low enough?

Tara, I put mideye 5-leafs on my 67 and was alittle shocked at how much it lowered it. I expected a noticable difference, but not that much. And, since they say replacing your saggy springs with standard will actually lift the car, i figured a mideye would leave it about the same level. I can only imagine reverse-eye, it would probably be laying on the tire...
I have 225/70/15's on the rear now but my rear end is also about 200 pounds lighter than it should be, so it'll be even lower soon. I'll try to get you a picture. They stick out alittle too far becuase of incorrect spacing, but I think it looks beastly.

RE: Low enough?
Thats not going to scrub anything up front? Also, It might wear the inside of those tires out, just from my own experience. the reason i asked about the scrubbing is because i put some Gt Bullit rims on my 67, and if you hit a light bump, the wheel hits the fender lip, and tears the tire to hell.

I think that a taller tire could help you out also,, maybe consider that the next time you get some tires, Go with a higher profile (50 or55 instead of 40 and 45) It would fill in that wheel well a little more.. I have allways liked a little more meat on the wheel..

Baddog, Thanks for the pics, that's about where I'm sitting now.
I have the Versailes 9" rear which is narrower than the original rear. I actually have 1" spacers to bring the wheels out. Nothing should rub if I lower it. The front has plenty of clearance.
Bigger tire is a good idea, maybe cheaper than springs too!
Gun Jam, I like the way yours sits.

The front is down a bit now. I have the 1" Shelby drop and cut half a coil off the springs with a cut-off wheel. I need to get block to lower the rear but how does the front look?

Call these guys http://www.eatonsprings.com/. They make the springs for NPD and such. Tell them what is your hight now and finish hight and they will set you up. Mine are from them (2" drop ) and I had them made for my car and the price was the same as off the shelf. I did add a 1" block to bring down even lower.
