Default Car started pulling to the left?

Today I was backing out of my garage onto the street. Turned the wheelto the left, then back to the right to go forward. I heard a clanking sound, and now my car pulls pretty hard to the left. The sound only happened twice today, but the car pulls all the time now. I am pretty sure it is not torque steer(joking).

I looked under it, but everything looks right. I didnt hit anything to knock out the alignment. Rebuilt front suspension and steering a few months ago and torqued everything down properly. Any thoughts?? Thanks much.

did you rebuild the steering box?

could be that the gears are worn and somehow slipped a tooth or something

Are there any grinding noises? Does the problem change when you brake?

Didnt rebuild the steering box, couldnt afford it at the time. Any way to tell if it is that?

And there is no grinding noise or anything else. It doesnt really change when braking either.

It may also just be a low tire, too.

Or perhaps something did come loose or crack in the suspension.

Mine used to clunk coming out of the driveway when I first got her, but the bad ball joints didn't cause the car to pull to one side, it wandered both directions.

"doesn't really change" when braking? Does that mean it changes a little? If so, does it make the wheel pull harder or not as hard?

No change at all when braking. I guess I will just park it til I get her up on stands this weekend. Go over it again piece by piece and see what I come up with[&o]

If it doesn't change during braking, then yeah, it's a steering or suspension problem. There's gotta be something either cracked, loose or broken under there. Good luck! And I hope it's not too expensive...

could be that a tie rod wasnt tightened good and when you put just enough pressure it moved either in or out

it wouldnt be really obvious by just glancing under the car

i would check that too
