Default Wax or no Wax, that is the question

Just got my 67 back from the paint and body shop. They did a great job with the color sanding and buffing. When I got home I decided to go back and re do all the polishing and buffing my self. I took over a week doing each step and making sure each step was perfect. WOW! It made a huge difference in the gloss and shine department.

Any ways, I have been told by a number of people not to wax my car but instead just maintain the paint by re doing the hand glaze. Here are the steps I used, please let me know your thoughts.

Paint : Sunburst Metallic II Dupont

Machine Buff With:

1.) 3m Perfect-It II Rubbing Compound
2.) 3m Perfect-It II Machine Polish
3.) 3m Perfect-It II Foam Polishing Pad Glaze
(All done with the Perfect-It Foam buffing pad at 2000rpm

4.) Finished off with 3m Imperial Hand Glaze

You can tell the paint is very smooth and clean but is missing the protection the wax would give it.Whathave the pros (you guys) done??? Let me know. If it helps, the car will never be left outside and will only be drive on occasin on the weekend.

Thanks

I am assuming that the paint is fresh and it was not just a sand and buff??? If so DO NOT WAX IT!!!!!!!! It takes about 3 monts for paint to fully cure and waxing it will seal it up causing the remaining solevents to be traped. This will ruine the paint. After 3 months, then use a light wax. IMHO

dont wax for at least 30 days maybe more really depends on the paint makers recommendations, basically though when it stops beading water then it should be safe to wax. the reason u can twax it is th epaint is still evaporating and the wax locks the chemicals in and can cause discoloration

I waited over one year to have the carcolor sanded after it was painted so its safe.

Also what product would you use?
