6 cylinder motors

Default 6 cylinder motors

I have a 6 cylinder and would like ot figure out if it is a 170 or 200 ci.Do the numbers on the block indicate this?

you can get a ton of info for your 6 at www.classicinlines.com i dont remember of hand but it to do with the # of freeze plugs it has 5 is a 200 or a 250 i think 4 or less is a 170

If you have 5 freeze plugs on the side, it's a 200. If you have 3, it's a 170. You can decipher this by the numbers, but it is easier visually. Also note, if you have a 170, you only have 4 main bearings. If you have a 200, you (probably) have the 7-main bearing engine. It's bulletproof

Only the 64.5's had 170's.
Anything later up to 69 should be a 200 unless someone swapped motors.
