Who has extra Holley's laying around?
I had a great idea.....
We all could probably use some tuning on our cars, but alot of us dont really have any idea how to do it and we dont want to spend 10 bucks at a time to try out various jets, power valves, secondary springs, discharge nozzles, etc.
I propose that everyone who has parts carbs strips the misc hardware and puts it into a community pool. when someone needs to tune on their carb they could receive a free selection of parts to get their carb tuned to their motor, then be in charge of passing the items along to whoever needed them next (plus they would put their old parts into the mix and keep it going)
what do you guys think? i for one, think i need a pair of 64's and a pair of 70 jets, and a 50 or 55 power valve to see where that puts me - my 570SA jets are way small and may be of very good use to someone else

I think that for $50 I would just rather buy a jet assortment that I will always have

As for power valves, if you put a larger power valve in, are you really going to give up your working old one and not keep it as a spare? Considering how often they blow out starting a pool of parts with power valves will prob end up with a lot of useless power valves in it (just an opinion)

well, newer holleys have blow out protection so they really dont go bad anymore. i have 54 mains, 65 secondaries, and a 85 PV, i have absolutely no use for the 85 PV (i dunno why holley went so goddamn high with it) but i would be glad to give it up to someone who had a car which pulled a higher amount of vacuum. also, i can probably try my secondary jets in my primarys and then just grab a set of 70's for the back and see where that puts me
