Factory "High Performance" emblems were just an add on that went behind the standard 289 fender emblem. Here is some K code car information: http://littleblue302.com/History%20o...o_271_hp_k.htm

This site mentions a point I forgot about, K code cars came with 9" rears.Check to see ifyour car has a 9".

how do i determine if its a 9 inch rear? sorry for the noob questions, but i know NOTHING about these cars, haha

If you can get a socket on all of the nuts holding the carrier into the housing, it's an 8". If you have to use a wrench on a couple of the lower nuts, it's a 9". Check this: http://www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm
