I think my FAN SHROUD sucks too much

I decided to put a fan shroud on my 67 289. Now instead of hearing the engine, allyou here isthis loudhorrible sucking noise. FYI I did replace my fan when I put the shroud on. My question is, if I ditch the new shroud will the sucking sound stop?

just the stock one for a 289 from npd, and my car has no ac

Drop a clutch fan in there

I tried a 6-blade steel fan, flex fan, and finally a clutch fan, and I'm very happy with the clutch fan. Both the steel and flex fans made a horrible noise at pretty much any speed, enough to where my coworkers could hear me coming to work from a block away. With the clutch fan, there is no noticable fan noise.
