Default newbie question

hi,im a new member to this website ,,and i have a question,i recently got a 68 mustang coupe on trade, the car is set up for drag racing ,,it has an estimated 500 horse 302 block in it out of a 90s mustang ,,but it still has ,carb,intake,wiring,for a 68,,,the car has sat,for around three years,being ran every now and then,(front end was wrecked), ,but im getting fuel in the oil,and im not sure where its coming from?the motor is built ,fuel cell,electric fuel pump,posi,tci tranny,8 quart pan,big cam,msd adjustable timing ignition,750 demon carb,etc,im new to this kind of performance,and not sure where to start? any info would be great ,,thanks

Does the oil smell like fuel, or is there ACTUALLY fuel in the oil(you'll be able to tell). Big power engines like this will usually have a tinge of fuel smell in the oil.

yes it has a strong odor of fuel,and when i drained it it was like water.would the fuel seperate from the oil when drained? thanks for the quick reply

Sounds like it is fuel in the oil. If I had to guess, I'd say the valve seats are worn out and not all fuel is being "burned " in the combustion chambers. Of course it's just a guess.

ok thanks for the input,do you think from this car being built up and not actually drove for a while ,might be the problem?maybe she just needs the cob webs ran out ?,,would fouled plugs cause this?

I'd say your fuel regulator is letting you down or the pressure is to high also look at the float level and needle and seats

ok ill have to check those options out ,,thanks,,btw,the fuel pressure guage reads 9 psi,does that sound about right?
