If i have a pertronix ignition in my car, how would i go about conecting a new tach? it wouldbein a 73. (just have people asking if they can get me anything for holiday stuff, figured it could be an easy thing)

RE: installing aftermarket tach
It is really simple. Whichever one you get should come with instructions. I got one from summit for about $30 and it was four wires. One to power source, one to the coil, one to the dash lights, and one to ground. Would have been a 40 minute install, but I ran into other wiring issues.[:@]
It is all color coded and easy to follow, and I am an electrical idiot

RE: installing aftermarket tach
If you have an MSD type ignition box you have to connect to the tach output on the box for the tach to work right. That's about the most complicated thing involving a basic tach install. They're actually simpler to install than they first appear.
