i would use a semi gloss black...the glossy will show dirt or any oil too much. very hard to keep clean.

I have used gallons of the stuff, inside and out.... just wash it off good with soap and water, and it will cause no problems... (It is also a great parts cleaner for the nasty greasy stuff....)

it's actually better for exterior paint. no seams for the stuff to get into which can cause problems later.

Not trying to change the subject, but what does it cost to get the car sandblasted?

Jaime, do you plan on painting the outside of the car too? If so, why not wait until then?

yea man, the car and the engine bay will match,...i want to have the bay sprayed now so i can install new engine and tranny, then brakes and suspension and drive the car for a year to get all the bugs worked out before final paint, i dont want to be leaning over a freshly painted fender tryin to tinker with **** or be taking stuff off and changing stuff

i have alot of friends that have done restos and they say this is deff the way to go,...unless you have all money up front and are going start to finish in one shot

If your matching the car color then do it when you paint the car. When I did mine, we got it back from the body shop with all the body done and with the base color on,the engine bay and all the jams were finished with clear. After the final fitting of the motor and all the wiring done it went back for the final coat and clear..Then final assy.
