Default What a great xmas!! NOT!!!Motor cought on fire

Yep, Since i got the honda, haven't driven or started (i tried starting it everyday) in 1 week. Today started it she wanted to die but I didn't let her. So i drive it down the street, and she dies. Well she doesn't start so my dad tows it and we try to start it again, and she don't. So we town it home and on the way, I see flames from under my hood scoop. I flagged my dad to stop the truck, and he see's it's on fire.

So I run to the garage and get a fire extinguisher and put it out. Take a look at the damage, and well I didn't take the air cleaner off but the carbureto is toast. 450 dollar carb wasted. The intake gaskets prolly toast.

So well now i'm going to put on the stock carb, stock intake with new gaskets and get her running, and sell it.

I'm very pissed off right now.

stuck float that let fuel run uncontrolled into the carb then it leaked out on the manifold and then found an ignition source is my guess.

Any other explanation based on the location of the fire?

Sorry for the stang burning up at least it wasnt fully involved.

No i think i just flooded it by holding down the gas to try to get it started, then an ignition source cought it on fire. The carb was too big for th car anyway. Oh well time for a boxbody fuel injected.
