If you are looking for advice from specific people then you should PM them and not put up a new thread. Guys like RGthekid are just trying to help. Don't bash him for that.

If you want to increase the performance of your engine more than a couple hp due to an intake change get yourself a camshaft.

Very well said guys.

Is it my computer or is it taking forever to reply to posts now that this new outfit took over MF?

And valley youre right i should just quit sittin on my hands and do the cam i just wanted to make sure it would add enough power to make it worth it since i only have stock heads.

Just stick with what you have, there is no reason to get the Summit intake. Not muchadvantage, if any, by changing to the Summit intake.

On a side note, if you are looking at a performance upgrade on the cheap I would suggest a set of rebuilt, stock 351w heads ($300) and a Summit racing camshaft/lifter kit($90). There is alot better out there in the world of performance upgrades but that is a nice combo on the cheap and that is about all the bigger cam you can use with press inrocker arm studs. If you are looking at a cam swap then you will need to look at replacing valve springs anyways and when the heads are off you might as well get them checked out. The larger ports of the 351 heads will give you better performance over 289/302 heads. The 351 heads can always be ported and can have larger valves installed at a later date if you would want to do so.

the summit intake is the professional products intake, one is like the performer, the other is like the rpm or stealth (typhoon). What carb are you using? The typhoon is decent but with the stock cam you want a smaller 500-600 cfm carb and for more low end try an annular booster carb and more initial timing.

that should work fine but annular carbs create a more atomized fuel mixture and require less vacuum to draw fuel thru the boosters, usually giving better throttle response and torque, the autolite 2100 and 4100 had annular boosters, everybody raves about how good they are, they say the best carbs made to this day. With annular boosters you can usually run a bigger carb without big carb penalties or a single plane intake with less low rpm loss. If you already have a 5.0 roller cam, then add some heads, heads on a ho cam will add more power than a bigger cam with stock heads..........but if you budget limited a tfs stage 1 or 2 cam is about the cheapest hp per dollar upgrade on a stock 5.0. about 150.00
