Quarters 67 to 68?
Will the 68 quarters with the side marker lights fit on a 67 coupe without needing to modify them at all? Bought (still need to pickup *sigh*) a 67 coupe for the wife who wanted a 68. lol Sorry dear but the price was just too good to pass up. I like the idea of the side markers simply for the added visual safety. Thanks.

[looking around] Uh, it would be quite obvious at a show and detract from the car IMHO. The other mods to make it a '68 [:'(](ugly steering wheel and other interior mods and uglier grill [yep! i am a big '67 fan! Sue Me! ]) would be more money. Trade the car for a '68 if she is that concerned...

RE: Quarters 67 to 68?
Its a daily driver for the wife with the occasional summer weekend local show for fun so I'm not concerned with that. I'm not attempting to 'make it a '68'.. just want to add the side marker (Signal) lights to her car. Its mainly for the additional safety on multi-lane highways which she commutes on daily. Also note that your incorrect on it being "more money". A 67 quarter is 109.95 and a 68 quarter is 99.95.. (NDP 2008 catalog page 189).
Regardless... What I'm concerned about is if the 68 quarter panel will fit a 67 or not. Meaning will it just bolt on and still have the lines (ie the C-Scoops to door, etc) match up correctly.

The earlier style ones with the indents for the side marker lights will fit but it will change the contour of the C-scoop.The only difference is the C-scoop will not have the angle that the 67 does and you will have to use the 68 Quarter ornaments!![sm=signs003.gif]

Yeah its those ones I was thinking of putting on. I was fairly sure they would simply bolt on correctly but was worried about the C-scoop lines matching (lining up) with the lines on the door. Thanks.

RE: Quarters 67 to 68?
Early 1968 Mustangs built before 2/15/68 use a rectangular red reflector with a body colored bezel, inserted into a cut-out or indentation in the quarter panel.
Cars built after 2/15 use bolt-on reflectors with oval-shaped chrome trim (www.mustangsunlimited.com part#83380). You wouldn't have to replace your quarter panels if you used these reflectors. Iposted a couplepics of'68s I found on the Internet at the bottom of this reply.
I too preferred the '68 to the '67. I also wound up with a '67. My advice would be to let her drive it for at least 6 months before making changes. It'll grow on her.
What about the front fenders? The '68 has a side marker just under the bumper that the '67 doesn't have. Areyou going to cut holes inyour fenders for those?
The '68 also has some interior features that I really preferred, namely the fold-down door handles and high-beam indicator. I'm considering replacing my gauge panel just so I can get that pony high-beam indicator.

RE: Quarters 67 to 68?
Well the car will not be on the road till at least summer as its being 100% disassembled, stripped to the metal and then rebuilt. I was thinking of replacing the quarters with the 68s with the indentsbut I may say screw it and just surface mount them instead. Since there isn't any rust on the original quarters (amazingly.. an east coast car.. none!) there isn't any other real reason to replace them.
ehh.. guess I just decided to not replace them. Surface mounted side signal lights it is.
