General question about Eleanor worth?
I have a 67 fastback that i made into an eleanor 4 years ago.........it was a frame off restoration........their were some flaws the original 289 and the gas smell that accompanied it..as well as the ride.. and some flaws in installing the kit..........so i just put in a 03 cobra motor with a stock supercharger and a 6 speed tranny...some parts i put in heidts mustang II suspension, avco heat exchanger, stage 2 clutch with new flywheel, hydraulic clutch, power booster brakes with will willwood brakes in the front. 04 cobra irs unit in the back, aluminum driveshaft. and the interior is all custom with black leather and suede seats, custom console , custom doors, power windows powere door locks and power trunk as well.. it has a built in navigation dvd and rear view camera. Customcabon fiber dash trim as well as console...no metal will be shown in car it will be covered with leather or vinyl..... which will be installed after i paint the car again.........I have it now being prepped to paint again. This guy does show quality work. My question is now i have to sell it once its done cause of financial reasons. I've seen these on ebay and they are not even close to what i have....what is the realistic price i can get..........even when i bought this car 5 years ago it was in excellent shape, no rust whatsoever...put my life into this and maybe i was dreaming but reality forces me to think about selling it........i will post pics of the engine and the dash thats installed shortly......

I have no doubt that if you paid someone to do this work you have listed you are upside down on it and you will not be able to sell it for what you put into it. Sorry.

yeah if you did the work yourself you might be able to break even or come out a little ahead. But if all this custom work was done by others, and therefore paid for, you probably have wayy more money in it than you can get out.
and as for how much you with get for it, it depends on the quality of the work and whether someone falls in love with your car or not. If someone really likes it then they will pay more $$$ for it, if people don't go as crazy of the custom work as you did, then you won't get anything out of it.

I saw a beautiful ruby red Eleanor at Bob's Big Boy in Barbank, CA. He told me he had over $100,000 into it, and I beleive him (the paint/body job alone was over $30,000!). He claimed he's had several offers for over what he has into it butwill not sell.

A car of that quality needs to go to one of the big auctions (Barrett-Jackson) to get the best dollar. Otherwise they are some brokers that may be able to help. Its very easy to over spend if all the work is farmed out. As far as E-bay, it seems most of the cars I've seen listed are of a lesser quality, simple, and flawed. A well done car will bring a premium price. You just have to wait for the right buyer.
