how hard would this be to "retro fit" into a '66?

oopsm didnt realize this ones power steering. i would buy a manual steering one

making it fit and mounting it up easy making the geometry work darn near impossible. here is a much better option for more money but quite a bit less than $1800

the first one you looked at is for 1980-93 stangs...not gunna bolt up to your 66

Daze, what coonects the rack to your steering wheel (ie whats NOT in the kit)???

in the case of my set up it came with all the parts BUT the connecting shaft was to short for smooth opperation. I called unisteer and they sent me a longer one no charge.

so you replace your steering box or does that remain? how do you connect from steering column to the rack?

You cut the steering shaft off of the steering box and then a u-joint connect the original steering shaft to the connecting rod which attaches to the rac via another u-joint.

It would seem like a huge headache to retro fit the other one I like Dazes idea get one that fits.... If you look on flaming river you can get the joints to connect it. The actual R&P has no connection with the transmission they were just to lazy to make the shaft into peices... If you got a clutch cable I think that would also eliminate the issue if you did not want to cut it.
