RE: What radio do you have in your Stang!
I have the original AM in my 66 FB and just carry a small boombox with me if I want to jam!Was thinking of going with 1 of the aftermarkets that fit right in with no cutting of dash needed but I am trying to keep it as original as possible![sm=lildevil.gif]

I had a stock radio until christmas. Then i got a Sony CDX-GT120 radio. So we took the old radio out and used the besel to put in the new radio. Cutting was required.

Custom Autosound USA1. Its pretty much the best thing you can get. It has AM/FM but still looks pretty stock, a tape player, and it has an auxiliary input (ipod, XM, mp3, etc.) that I wired to the ash tray. It is kind of expensive but I love mine. You get all that, and dont have to cut the dash up. Also, I think you can get them with a remote mount CD player (if you roll that way).

The oneI have is aftermarket stereo thatfit right in w/ mp3 hookups. Got the FORD logo on it. I think it a Custom Audio or something. Don't know if it will play rap, but it plays classic rock pretty good!

I know several dealers that absolutely refuse to sell Custom Autosound due to quality issues, and every other person I've heard from (you two aside) that has CA equipment has had nothing but problems with it.Stereos shorting out and frying are not uncommon. I will never buy their stuff because of this. Not to say that you guys will have problems, but it's entirely too common from what I've heard for me to even think about buying one of their setups.
I currently have a twin **** style stereo in my 67 that a friend gave me out of his Volvo. It's a piece of crap, but it works. Eventually I'm probably going to get an aftermarket coniversion bezel and slap a modern deck in it, or possibly install anoriginal unitif I find one cheap and put a modern deck in the glove box. I run most of my music through my mp3 player, so changing cd's isn't an issue for me.
