Default 1968 cougar xr7 axle decodeing help!
I have a 1968 cougar xr7 that I use for parts can anybody help me decode the axle code the axle code is ( 5 ) I have a 279.1 in my mustang now I'm hopeing that the one on the cougar is a lower gear 325.1 or 350.1 would be nice lol so any help would be great thanks guys!!

It makes more sense to decode the tag that is on the third member not the axle code on the VIN plate.
