I really like the redline tires and the rims. Could you tell me what kind of rims they are and where you bought the redlines!
65 Styled steel wheels. I've got a set on my '69.

The wheels (14x7) are from Scott Drake. The tires, Cocker. I compared these steel style wheels to other manufactures - IMO no contest, these have the best finish/style). Interestingly, the Mustang was the only production car to offer the dual red line tires. They are a strong visual signature - especially on a black car.

If I had a different color, I might have gone another way with wheel/tires choice.

I remember your conflict between keeping the wheels with the trim rings and the wider repops. I guess traction won out in the end, huh?

I have 15x7 SS wheels from Mustangs Unlimited (made in Oregon, can't remember the manufacturer) and my spare is a 14x5 Scott Drake SS wheel. By observation, the quality of the wheel and chrome is comparable between the two. What sets the Scott Drake ahead is the painted finish as it not only looks better, but is also more durable.

Jeff

[edit] For those looking for the classic tires, it is Coker. www.cokertire.com

You're right, traction won out(after burning up a lot of rubberit became obvious that the supercharger requireswider tires)- but I actually prefer the 65 wheels on my 66. Does anyone have any idea why Ford went to a trim ring on their 1966 steel style wheels?

By the way, here is a face shot per requests...
