shift light

Default shift light

my shifter light in my floor isnt working, i changed the bulb and have power running to it. how can i get this to work again and does anyone have a picture of this

When you say you have power, is that with a test light. There are two wires going to that, check your ground!

I don't use one myself I shift by earbut his right check you'r ground!!

If your using a volt meter to test for power and your getting 12v but the light doesnt light up it could be

1) incorrect (poor fit) or burnt out light

2) The ground could be very weak...its good enought to light up the low resistance digital volt meter but is unable to supply enough current to light up the light because of the bottle neck cause by a bad ground.

Check your ground and clean the inside of the bulb socket to make sure you have a good contact connection.Good Luck with it!!

I dont have a pic but I will describe mine and see if it helps.

It mounts to the side of the shift lever (under the bezel, of course) and it is just 2 wires running to a metal tube with a really tiny hole in the top that shines on the bezel. That tube is clipped to the shift lever with a 2 sided clippy thingy.
