2-1/4" is the perfect size pipe for that engine. I wouldn't push it out to 2-1/2 unless he gets it up over 350hp.

I have a 68302 that I'm puting in my 67 not going to mess with the numbers maching engine!!I'm going to put a edelbrock performer rpm top end kit on it it sould be go for 350 to 365HP

it works with the stock engine!! and you can mod it later down the line thats what I plan on doing...

Monte carlo bar and export brace both are cheap and stiffen up the front end alot.

so should i keep my stock heads and them moddified? if so what should i have done? or should i just buy performance heads for it?

Aftermarket heads are best, but pricey. BTW, headers are the best bang for the buck for a bolt on performance increase that you can feel.

IMO it's not worth it to put money into the stock heads unless you absolutely want the original heads. For a complete rebuild includingbigger valves, hardened seats,pushrod guideplates, screw in studs, springs, and some mild porting, expect to spend a good $600-800 and come out with a set of heads with a mediocre flow rate. For a couple hundred more you can get a set of World Products Windsor Jr's that will flow better (damn well for cast heads) out of the box, and for a couple hundred more than that you can get a set of even better flowing aluminum heads.
I'd wait to do the cam until you can afford heads. The cam and heads should be matched to eachother performance-wise.
