Default 65 parking brake help

I need help figuring out how the parking brake is set up. Do any of you guys have pics I can reference? Anything from the firewall would be helpful! All I have is the parts the PO had in a box....

No pictures, but hopefully I can explain it well enough. This is for a '66 but may help.

The cable runs from the interior handle down to the transmission crossmember where it connects to the end of a bar (flat stock) that pivots off of the passenger side (IIRC) of the crossmember. In the middlish of the bar is where the cable end connects.

Starting from the rear wheels, the cables hang free until they get about a foot or so in front of the axle. There is a bracket attached to the floor where the "ball" on the cable sheath can fit and not move. These brackets are held on by 2 bolts each. From there, the cables proceed forward to under the rear seat, where there are 2 more brackets that the ends of the sheathing fit into, these require a clip (like a big bobby pin almost) to fasten the sheathed end. Now you have naked cable protruding from the sheathed end that should make a loop (at least on a '66 the cable is one continuous piece) and have a half-round bracket on it with a piece of threaded rod protruding from it. The threaded rod attaches to the flat-stock bar mentioned earlier.

Hope this helps, I'd put a picture up but mine is still apart. I hope to put it together this weekend.

On the 65 the cable has to run between the frame and floorpan after it comes out of the rear brake.Screws to the floorpan with the u-clips, runsto the brackets on either side of the tunnel [with clips] then hook the ball joint into either side of the brakeequalizer. The equalizer rod in the center of the bar attaches to the equalizer lever, which is located in the slot on you trans support. The cable from the handle assemby is slid in the other end of that bracket. Spring hooks next to thebar yourequalizer rod ishooked. The handle assembly in mounted in the two holes in the firewall and the two holes under the dash with your cowl vent handle.
Mount the handle, get your cables run to the equalizer lever and hook the spring. Adjusment is done there too. Make sure you don't get it so tight they are engaged.
