RE: how do i take the trim off the windshield?
Very carefully!
It is a PIA.... the molding has a bunch of little clips that stand up between the edge of the windshield "frame" (edge of the car), and the rubber seal. They have little "fingers" that reach up and grab the edge of the molding.
Start in a corner and very carefully pull the molding up one little clip at a time. some will come off kind of easy, some will be very hard to get off without bending the molding. Take your time and pull the boogers upin such a way that you don't bend the hell out of the molding when one of those clips lets loose.
I am sure that a tool is made to do this but I didn't have one...

Very carefully, no really! It is wedged on clips. You have to kinda pry it up without pulling to hard, or you will kink it. I usually start with the window post pieces. Start at one end and work it up a little at a time. That's the only way I know how. You don't want to have to buy new chrome, it is not near as thick.

As I said, I didn't have a tool. I thought about a screwdriver but the trim is very thin and very easy to leave marks in. I don't advise a screwdriver.
I just used my hands worked slowly and carefully.
<<Oh,, I think that I saw a tool at NAPA on one of the "tool trees", might check there.>>
