RE: pics of front suspension work
you can try heating it up then cooling it down really fast to see if it breaks the rust bond. Also im a big fan of doulbing up wrenchs. You put the box end on the bolt and find your biggest wrench then you can combined the open end with the box end to double the length. The only problem with this is if the joint comes apart when you got all your strength on it your knuckles are going right into the nearest metal object.

Don't even tell me you are tying to do this with 3/8th drive stuff! It will never come off. Don't you have some bro's with some tools? A good wrench with a cheater bar on it should work. If I remember that is 1 1/8th correct? A box end wrench should not be that hard to fine in that size. What kind of impact are you using? Since you siad you don't have a 1/2 drive socket to fit it I have to assume it is a 3/8 drive imact. That won't work either. Gotta break out the really big stuff to get that baby off!

this is just a sugestion, Did you get all of the cotter pin out whole?
the reason I say this... is I rebuilt the front under my '66 a couple months back
and had a time with removing one side of the ball joint as well, It turns out that
a pc of the cotter pin broke off on the other side of where I could not see the hole and I had to wrench the nut all the way off, when it came off I could then notice that I had twisted the remanding pc of that cotter pin around the threds.
as I said just a sugestion

I had issue with taking my strut rods off also, when reworking the suspension. I sprayed it down with
brake cleaner first to remove the crud/dirt. Then applied WD40 and let it sit for a day, then more WD40 applied
the next day ( during the week I have no time to work on the car). On the weekend I used a socket and
ratchet with a long handle ( about2ft ) the bolt came pretty easy. The same worked on my exhaust bolts
which I could not get off the first time I tried. After two soakings they all came off pretty easy.

RE: pics of front suspension work
I ended up cutting one on a non-Mustang. I checked it later out of boredom but nothing could break that nut loose. I took a heavy vise on the table, anda monkey wrench with a 10ft piece of fence pipe (monkey wrench around the strut rod) and still could not break it free. I cut the nut in half, still wouldn't break free. I gave up at that point. I think the nut bonded permanently to the strut.
